Blood Wolves

Hey, not asking anything about the mechanics of blood wolves, just curious how people like to describe their appearance for their game. Do they look different from a normal wolf, or is the only difference size, basically making them dire wolves? Is it some sort of gruesome, macabre, blood creature? You don’t get very far typing “blood wolf” into google lol.

I don't know...maybe a big wolf with blood on its claws and dripping from its fangs?

I have some players who would find it too gruesome, but if I read the room right I might say it's near-perpetually coughing up bright red blood onto the floor. Lean into the blood angle.
