What order do things happen in during upkeep?
I have been using the following order:
1) recovery
2) healing
3) damage
4) resolve conditions (i.e. play runes (or whatnot) to increase or decrease them).
5) everything else (initiative changes, passives that don't heal, do damage, or affect conditions, etc)
upkeep order

Re: upkeep order
The player resolves all actions in the order that suits them, with the exception of Conditions. Conditions have a 3 step process that needs to be followed, but when Conditions are resolved in the Upkeep phase is up to the individual.
Condition steps:
1) You may play a rune to remove 1 intensity in the condition
2) resolve the condition
3) You may make a minor sacrifice to reduce a level of intensity
RGS3 has a simplified version.

Re: upkeep order
Can you heal 4 to get your rune into stun, recover 1, heal 4 more, recover 1 again?
Also, there are lots of conditions (example: impeded) that say "Decrease Intensity: Play any rune during Upkeep to reduce Intensity by 1 (max. 1 rune per Upkeep)". Is that in addition to, instead of, or overruled by, the minor sacrifice?
And can you make the minor sacrifice before you resolve your automatic recover?

Re: upkeep order
Pretty sure you cannot heal, recover, heal, recover. It’s been a while since I looked but I remember there was a passage that talked about that.
Conditions - I allow it in addition to the minor sacrifice
Yes, I think you can do the minor sacrifice first.

Re: upkeep order
hmm...that seriously nerfs conditions if you can get rid of two of them every turn during upkeep.raleel wrote:Pretty sure you cannot heal, recover, heal, recover. It’s been a while since I looked but I remember there was a passage that talked about that.

Re: upkeep order
You cannot split a source (an effect within a power). So if you have Heal +2 and Recover +4, you need to fully heal or fully recover before resolving the other source.jstomel wrote:Can you heal 4 to get your rune into stun, recover 1, heal 4 more, recover 1 again?

Yeah what's listed in the Condition description was reiterating what is in the rules, but I know that's not fully clear. So play 1 rune before it resolves, or you can allow 2 runes to be played per Upkeep (if you read it differently), but just be consistent in how you do it.
