Bloodsmithing and Preternatural ____ Prowess
Flipping through LOTA skills, and I see Bloodsmithing and Preternatural Physical, Mental, and Spiritual Prowess. Thing is, the only other place in the entire book I see bloodsmithing is in the item description for Laevettin, which is still 1 more time than I see any of the preternatural skills. Are there any classes, monsters, aspects, or immortal archetypes that get these, or are these 4 skills unavailable to any class/monster without DM override?
Re: Bloodsmithing and Preternatural ____ Prowess
Also, while on the topic of skills in LOTA, Burial has a line that reads “An Angel of Death utilizing this skill is automatically granted 1 free success is her specialization matches how the deceased perished.”
Is that specialization determined by subclass? I didn’t see anything to denote a specialization anywhere in their powers or subclasses. Is it a choice the player makes when they build their character? “I specialize in the burial of burn victims,” or something like that?

Re: Bloodsmithing and Preternatural ____ Prowess
So Bloodsmithing is a foreshadowing to our upcoming Dvergar lore book. It is what was used on Kvasir by the Dvergar brothers.Balasar wrote:Flipping through LOTA skills, and I see Bloodsmithing and Preternatural Physical, Mental, and Spiritual Prowess. Preternatural X was a series of skills we looked at when testing some concepts that have now been introduced in RGS3. As you know, RGS evolves with each book (CRB v 2.0, DotN v 2.1, LotA v 2.2, CoE v 3.0) and so it remained since we had adventure denizens who had the skill. They had/have the possibility of showing up in a yet-to-be-published adventure. Feel free to try them out in your games. Maybe have them infused in some magic items.
I think their purpose must have been cut by the editor and left on the cutting room floor (art had to be shrunk in LotA as it was so dense). Yes please ask your players to come up with "death-types" that is their specialty. For example some Angels of Death specialize with infanticide, and they attract Utburden followers (from Creatures from Fairy-Tale and Myth). I should add that to the errata, thanks!Balasar wrote:Also, while on the topic of skills in LOTA, Burial has a line that reads “An Angel of Death utilizing this skill is automatically granted 1 free success is her specialization matches how the deceased perished.”

Re: Bloodsmithing and Preternatural ____ Prowess
Dvergar lore book sounds fascinating! My players are learning about the Whitesmith’s Guild now, and Svalms is gonna reward them each with personalized Dvergar engineering items. I also have plans for an evil blacksmith villain, and the Dvergar lore sounds wildly helpful for such an undertaking.
In regards to preternatural skills, I was thinking about a weapon destined to free Loki and his kids, and it gets more powerful with each one you free. Preternatural physical prowess might be interesting for that.
Duly noted on the speciality. Was a little confused by that. Specialities might make for interesting backstories. Thank you.
