Forest's Reach (New Magic Weapon)

So, I am working on the following as the personal weapon of the Druid Ivar "Iron Root." In my game, I bumped him up in level compared to his canon stats. Thoughts?

From Sacred Wound Binding:
Alder Wood: Alkas gain the Sight Meta bound to Spiritual Runes
+1 Focus

From Craft:
Reach +5
Range +10
Physical DF +1
Focus +2

From Imbue:
Active Power: Gate Hrokkvir, Fertility Bloom, Branch Barrier (Imposing Barrier), Needle Storm, Pinecone Bombardment
Passive Power: Minor Sac +1 to grant +1 level to the gated Hrokkvir

Looks great, but the Reach and Range numbers do puzzle me... why those values?

I chose those values largely for flavor reasons. The way I see him using the staff is almost like a small, semi-living tree itself. So when he wants to do a ranged attack, it would manifest as projectile pinecones, hardened sap, or the like. Being a master of Alkas (which are Spells) in combat he'd prefer to stay far back from the front line initially (in my opinion) to lay down his Alkas, far enough away that he couldn't be Taunted, have his Spells interrupted, etc.

In my head, this manifests as him sort of slamming the bottom of his staff into the ground and causing it to very temporarily "take root." Roots would explode out of the bottom and travel under the soil towards his target like torpedoes under the surface of the water.

That sounds way awesome and I’m totally stealing it! I’ve got a Druid in my game, and I’m totally giving her old archdruid/mentor this staff.
