Trying to figure out the QR on an Ancestral Weapon and when you round and add the bonus from Disir levels.
Lv17, 2 Disir levels
Option 1: Half of your level, round down, then +20% of that and round down that results in QR9
Option 2: Half of your level, +20% of that then round down results in QR10
Option 3: Half+20% of your level, round down results in QR11
I think its option 2 but option 3 also makes sense. Similarly do the disir levels affect how often the weapon gains QR as you level?

Re: Stalo: Ancestral Weapon
I would go with
(floor(Level/2)) * (1+(disir level * 0.1))
so 17/2 = 8.5, rounded to 8
then multiply by 120%, which is 9.6, which would round to 9.
I think any would work fine, just as long as you are consistent and clear with your group

Re: Stalo: Ancestral Weapon
Why does the Druid get a 2h staff option(75% QR) for Sacred Wood Binding and Stalo not get a similar option? Should some compensation be given for Stalo who want to use a 2h weapon?
Re: Stalo: Ancestral Weapon
I gave that option in my game, actually. He didn't take it, but I gave it.Brokk wrote:Why does the Druid get a 2h staff option(75% QR) for Sacred Wood Binding and Stalo not get a similar option? Should some compensation be given for Stalo who want to use a 2h weapon?
Re: Stalo: Ancestral Weapon
My take on this is they can decide what type of item it is. It can be 1-handed or 2, melee, range, an armor, a shield, or even an accessory. I still influence toward a weapon, but still like to keep it open. But the QR stay the same.
For the druid, once its build, he need to craft another to get the new QR for higher level, which also mean going out to get the special wood. He does not benefit from disir level. They get special power from the wood.
For the Stalo, as he gain level he gain more QR to spent on his weapon, it is like the character get familiar or discover new abilities from the weapon. Also if more then one instance of the skill they get more benefit. So that is my reasoning on keeping the QR the same.

Re: Stalo: Ancestral Weapon
I think it is possible for Ancestral Weapon to be two-handed. The Stalo would just need to spend some of the QR on increasing the reach. This does create the slightly odd situation of possibly having a Reach 2, Size 3 Great Sword, as Size for ancestral weapon is 3 or Reach whichever is greater. This has the effect of Ancestral Weapon including the Miniaturize quality for free, at least for most two-handed weapons.
Having a size 3 ancestral weapon great sword already bestows the great advantage of being able to use any rune to wield it instead of requiring a physical rune as a normal greatsword would. Two-handed in either case of course.

Anything that is not nailed down is mine. Anything I can pry loose is not nailed down.
