How is this coming?

It's going very well, and has evolved and changed a ton from the document that is live on DriveThruRPG right now. The game uses talents instead of aspects now and is more card based than pencil and paper based (but still uses runes). Rest assured it will still come with a stunning book. I have been holding off on the PDF upload because I haven't had the time to write all of the latest rules down. Half of them are in the new and upcoming manuscript, but half of the doc still references the old content, so I cannot upload it yet (without causing immense confusion to the reader).

I gave myself a deadline of December 31st to update and upload the new version manuscript, but now that we're Dec 29th and I haven't had an opportunity to update it I think January is a more realistic timeframe. I definitely want the new doc to drop before I send out the extras for the last Kickstarter since some more folks have opted for the War of Shadow beta extra.

I will update the Chronicle of Kings print and play rules by Dec 31 however, so if you're on the boardgame beta, that's some good news for 2018.

I have been working on a War of Shadow deck that will be uploaded to DriveThruCards, so you can look forward to that next year.

You sure can, but the looong overdue manuscript update that I was hoping to get live at the end of January is still not done. The rules have changed so much since the last upload that it's almost a different game mechanically from what's in the live PDF. I have quite a few people on a mailing list that are awaiting access, but there's no point sharing what's there right now. "Soon"....

Is this a 2020 KS launch?

It was slated for 2020, but with this Covid-19 pandemic, it's so hard to work in the home office with the wife and kids interrupting every 2 seconds. I still hope to KS it this year, but it's a maybe rather than a certainty. I will update the WoS BETA after CfFT&M FOTN edition launches... it has changed a lot!
