Vanagard BETA

We're starting to do some online beta tests for Vanagard over roll20 and G+Hangouts. You only need a webcam and the desire to help shape the final product that will be Kickstarted later this year.

Vanagard is a simple table-top game which is part RPG and possibly part board-game. It's targeted at families and casual gamers. The setting is set during the Viking the creation myths. Yggdrasil the cosmic tree is young, the gods and giants are new, so far very little animosity has set in between the divine races. The game is about adventure and exploration. You take on the role of an anthropomorphic animal hailing from Vanagard (think "Red Wall" or "Mouse Guard"). The game uses runes to resolve actions and help move the story along. The final game will have character cards, foldable maps and maybe minis as stretch goals (although in the current rules set they are more for inspiration since there's no tactical positioning in the game).

Last week we ran an internal beta and the full adventure took 1 hour. But we need 2 hours of your time, 1 to play and another to gather feedback. Post below if interested. This week we'd like to set something up Friday night 7-9 EST (GMT -5). Playtest groups are small, so if you don't get in this week, we'll try and have 1 every week.

I'm working on the rough draft right now, once I'm done that I'll set up the roll 20 game.

Would you like to make your own characters or would you rather start with pregens? Character creation is pretty easy, still I will be able to set things up faster with pregens.

I'd like to create my own just to see how character creation works. Character creation is one of my favorite aspects of a rpg. But let me know if that's alright. Thanks
