Runedraw tool for windows (Wyrd for Windows)

Post by Tommy »

Hey, I recently purchased this game via the big expensive box-set that was available, and as I have been reading the core rulebook and then through the adventure Fafnir's Treasure, I accidentally managed to recruit more players than I had runebags available.

So to compensate, I let the players use my metal runes I got from the set.

So I ventured out to make myself a tool that allows me to wyrd runes without using actual runes.
The result was this program of mine:

I took the liberty of using the Fate of the Norns: Ragnarok cover art, with Andrews name on it, because I have no intention of asking for money for my work, and I intend to give this out freely to every player and Norn who wants it.

The current limitation of the app is that it requires a windows platform and .net installed.

This is what it looks like

And if you ask for... like 8 runes, it looks like this

I added an option that let you split your draws if you use 2 bags of runes.

In the 8 rune situation you take 4 from each bag and displays them, this allows duplicate runes.
Otherwise no duplicate results are displayed.

The tool:

If you wonder why it says "Unknown Publisher", its simply because I have not paid to get it certifed, that is all.

Code: Select all

Changelog:
Version: Change.
1.0.0.0: Local test
1.0.0.1: Added equal draw, more local test
1.0.0.2: Polished "UI", made it pretty.
1.0.0.3: Added to logic, in order to ensure correct input data when dealing with numbers
1.0.0.4: First release version.
1.0.0.5: Fixed bug in regards to wyrd'ing more than 24 runes.
1.0.0.6: Added a minor frame around rune images to better separate the runes, also fixed a bug in regards to asking for way to many runes(48+)
1.0.0.7: Improved usability, updated background of runes, ensured simple reset on reWyrding without a reset.
1.0.0.8: Ooops, forgot one line of code. Now it no longer removes the grey background when resetting Equal draws. My bad.
1.0.0.9: Improved input system to detect if user accidentally puts something else than numbers in the input box. Alerts user of error instead of crashing.
1.0.0.10: Fixed flickering when resetting the generator.
1.0.1.0: New runes, more inline with the intended design of the system, name update and minor tweaks to looks. Placeholder runes removed.
1.0.1.1: Issues with One-Click, disbanding system. Going for manually publishing the files.

Last Update: 02.March 2015 @ 16:00 CET +1
If you notice any other bugs, please let me know.

I would suggest drawing a "tile" around the rune to set it off a little better from the background.

Do you mean around the rune itself, or a rectangle around the rune? :)

Yes, but not transparent. A solid grey rectangle to fill in the area and get visual separation

I see, ok. I can do that, I actually went out of my way to clear out the gray box behind the runes. But I see the reasoning behind it.

Putting it back. Updating in progress.
