Fafnir's Treasure Campaign

Post by DavetheLost »

All set for today's game. Full immersion planned. Paper miniatures, character cards for every prominent NPC, I love Google image search and Avery business card stock. Playmats, character sheets, runes, rune bags.

My players aren't going to know what hit them. Of course I will have to give them a lecture about it being a wide open sandbox and that interaction with NPCs will be critical. They tend to interact at sword's edge.

The library gave away our room, so the start has been delayed until August 5.

Aww too bad, looks like you had a pretty nice setup. It's always a challenge when the games aren't at someone's house. Is this a 1-shot or is this the start of a long term campaign?

2nd session of an ongoing campaign. The good news is we should be picking up several more players.

We picked up two more players for the campaign. Second session went pretty well, but this group has a wicked tendency to avoid anything that smells like plot!

The made port in Evingard, found out about the Zombear attacks from the gate guards and proceeded to ignore the rest of the town in favor of waiting for some bears so they could kill them and see for themselves if the bears rose from the dead.

The bears showed up, only two of them though, and placed at the bottom of the initiative chain, so they fell pretty quickly.

Now the players will have to wait, and wait, in the cold and dark to see what happens. We will see if they. Continue their plan to track the bears to their lair or if they encounter the quest givers and begin to look for Fafnir's Treasure.

Next session is tonight.

Yeah players will be players. I think the sandboxyness of Fafnir's won't help, because there are just so many ways players can interact with all of the denizens. Hang in there and have some random encounters prepped. I don't know if you have access to the beta, but if they go into the mines, all of the info is in the DotN manuscript. Good luck!

Just the one on Sunday morning that I know of, but I could probably be arm twisted (or bribed) into more.
