The Waters of Trondelag

Post by kdtompos »

On page 34 of the CRB:
Trondelag is the kingdom that has recently founded a new magical site called Trondheim. It is where the gods and Jotuns come to coronate mortal men. With the onset of Fimbulwinter, this is becoming more frequent; something deeply magical emanates from the waters in this realm that attracts men with great destinies.
Ok, I've been looking all over the internet for some sort of hint as to what might be magical in the waters of Trondelag, or around Trondheim. I can't find any myths or folklore that even hints at it. I've been trying to piece together a good picture of Norveig during this time, but this prominent place eludes me. So as a final resort, I'm asking what you had in mind for this region... what deeper issue is going on?

Even if someone doesn't want to say it outright, I would love any clue or direction that might lead me to discovering it myself. While I imagine it will be fleshed out fully in later supplements, I would give my eye for another hint.

Without giving away too much of the plot in the upcoming saga trilogy, all of the pretender kings (more announced in DotN book) will want to get an "official" coronation at the king maker's throne. It sits on a cliff at the head of the fjord, flanked by waterfalls. Some say the water is touched by the Norns, so the ceremonies include an aquatic element to the coronation ritual. I'll stop there, I don't want to give too much away... but great question! :)
