Ok so I’ve been avoiding using certain monsters because im so confused by divine potence, but I need to figure it out haha. I need to use those ancient borghilds, Jarnvid wolves, ettins, and valkyries. I’m pretty confused by just about everything about it. How do you figure out how much a creature has? How do they get more? How do they get it back if they spend it on stuff? If an ability “scales off MDP,” is that multiply by MDP? I’m not gonna lie, it’s a lot of rules and information, and I almost kind of just wish immortals had powers that worked the same as everyone else’s but with different metas and bigger numbers. It’s certainly possible here that I’m an illiterate idiot, but I’d rather be an idiot online and be able to throw ettins and a home-brew immortal kraken at my players.
Clarification: that’s an ettin riding an immortal kraken.
Awesome, your campaign has hit Disir 5!

Your dwellers should have 2 void runes now, the void rune for their mortal spec and the valknutt rune for their immortal archetype spec. Having an immortal archetype grants access to DP, and the MDP is Disir level -4 (so players will start with 1 DP with a max DP of 1).
Quick summary of abbreviations:
DP = Divine Potence
MDP = Maximum Divine Potence
CDP = Current Divine Potence
Let's dive right in, since DP really shakes things up nicely for those who have been playing RGS for years and look forward to something fresh & new mechanically on the playmat.
Monster will need the immortal attribute (in the LotA book) in order to have any DP. It's your call how much MDP they will have. DP is represented by tokens, beads or other small object about the size of a rune-stone. The iOS and Android app has DP tokens as part of the feature-set.
The DP tokens can set In-Hand and can be used as outlines on page 88 in LotA. To summarize:
- Play 1 DP to perform a Generic Action / Cinematic Action
- Play 1 DP as part of a rune chain to add any 1 meta tag available to the power
- Play 1 DP to move a rune back into your Essence bag from any damage location
- Play 1 DP to counter an effect
etc...
I think you get the idea? It's like a wild card rune that can be used in many ways.
1 DP regenerates per hour in-game, and a dweller or denizen may perform an Ultimate Sacrifice to regain 1 DP. DP may never exceed MDP.
Some powers grant DP, while others can drain DP.
RE: scalaing
The power called "Battlefield Timing" scales by your MDP. If you have 3 MDP, regardless of your CDP, you will shift up to + or - 3 positions in the initiative order.
