I have been trying out different color combinations for a set. I ended up making a mold using a set I picked up off of amazon and casting it using MoldMax 30 and dental plaster. Figured that would be an easy way to make 6 sets for my group. It wasn't really, but it was still fun :) If you are familiar with Hirst Arts stuff, I essentially did that.

Here's some of the runes with various colors. Don't pay attention to the FotN color scheme->potential mismatch. I didn't pay attention to that for this test batch. Also, the metallic set is an experiment to see if I liked that for a Norn set (there would be a mapping of color->color).

The size/dimensions are spot on! Good work! ...just watch your symbol colors. ;-)

Thanks! when I'm not experimenting with color pairing, I'll have them lined up right. Perhaps I'll post a picture.

edit: update! "easy" set done. this is just the straight up plaster color with the runes painted on them. The red is not quite fully dry on all of them.

At risk of being accused of thread necromancy, I just thought I'd post this picture of the newest rune set for FotN I've finished. I carved and woodburned the runes myself, then stained the wood (stain was supposed to be "red oak" color, but ended up more like a mahogany than anything else) and burned a small indentation into the bottom of the tile into which I dabbed paint of the appropriate color for the attribute represented. I ended up making two sets for the time being, and it was a lot of fun doing it. I may go back and put a couple coats of clear varnish on them if they look like they won't hold up so well as it, but they are hardwood and I expect they'll last many, many gaming sessions as they are. Admittedly, they are 1-1/2" diameter discs, so they are a little large for the player sheets, but not absurdly so. All and all, I'm pretty pleased with how they turned out.
