Phantasm Sept 2016 Playtest
I took a small break from writing next iteration of Vanagard rules to play around in my old home convention, Phantasm in Peterborough. I've been attending this con for over two decades, starting off with running D6 Star Wars and graduating to running games of my own design; it's pretty exciting. The...

Re: Vanagard BETA
Yes,
It might be best to wait for the latest version of the rules. I'm working on them, they should be ready soon. When it's ready I'll talk to Andrew about sending you the updated beta.

Re: Vanagard Mission Statement
My original idea was only small, familiar type animals buuut playtesting revealed that folks wanted more options. Therefore you can play any kind of Van-Folk you'd like; whether snake, bear, lion, hawk and so forth. The animal doesn't even need to be particularly Nordic, Vanagard is vast and holds a...

Fan Expo 2016 Playtest
I had the pleasure of being able to run Vanagard at Fan Expo in Toronto. There were no pre-gens, we made the characters while we played. This went smoothly and by the end of the session we had a party of wily Van-Folk: • Racoon, a playful racoon, now with a golden beard • Skipper, a monkey who clash...

Vanagard Mission Statement
I thought I'd share the game's intro and mission statement. Here it goes: Introduction This is a story about beginnings. Yggdrasil, the World Tree, is young, vibrant and grows between eight worlds. The ninth, our world of Midgard, doesn’t exist. There is no Thor or Jormungand. Odin is a young man wh...

Re: Epic stuff
That would be an excellent idea I think.
Heck build the mech as a Thane, that way it has it's own unique set of active and passive powers.

Re: Epic stuff
In the Seith and Sword playbook I modeled Louhi's Giant Eagle form, the one she used to attack Väinämöinen in the Kalevala, with 50 warriors on her back. Looking back at it now I designed it as a special ability unique to her.
