I'm reworking the RGS playmat to factor in the new DotN and LotA content as well as the War of Shadow RGS evolution.

Any requests from the players? Let me know if you have feedback. For example, one suggestion that I received from a player last week was to organize the conditions alphabetically.

1) I think the multiple wound tracks is confusing. it hit my group a few times. This should also get you some space on the sheet, even if it does make 3 sheets necessary.

2) while i like the vertical, I think, at most tables, horizontal space is less of a premium than vertical due to the need for shoulder space. something more like the norn sheet in the core book I think works better, as it has a horizontal layout.

3) I'm really torn on the art direction on the sheet. On one hand, I LOVE it. It's amazingly evocative. I still prefer this style to Denizens and Lords. it's a real eye catcher, and is, without a doubt, the single most commented on feature in the boards that I've seen. I printed out a half dozen on 11x17 and laminated them. that's how much I love them.

On the other hand, it's not very _clear_. it's very very busy and hard to determine where things are. The conditions are difficult to read with the rune-script, but it's really super evocative. The pictures do make it a little hard, but I love the characters. Maybe the simplification and the reorienting above that I suggest might help.

4) i've mentioned this before, but the spaces for runes feel small when used with stock runes that you can buy online. It might be some OCD speaking, but spilling over the branch-dividers feels... sloppy and disorderly. For a game that likes runes and rune chains and divisions are important (in hand vs in play vs in contingency), this makes me cringe a bit. On the plus side, the mini dominoes from bulkdominoes.com are 24mm x 12mm x 4mm and fit quite nicely.

5) I like the app very much. any work that can be done on that, i'm very happy about. That's what I tell most people to go with.

I love the playmats. - definitely keep the art and feel the same. I do agree that having only a single damage track would simplify things for players. Middle track for us! If that would mean creating 3 different versions I suppose that could be done. If you use only the middle track there would be plenty of new space for the newer conditions that have been added since the base game or even to give the conditions that exist some more space for the runes to fit on them. Keep the art and style either way for sure!!!

I've only played 3 sessions so far, so take my thoughts with a grain of salt.

I adore the art style, however I think the mat could benefit from having fewer embellishments. Just a slightly more sparse version of the current style would make the mat easier to read, but maintain the FOTN:R feel. This might also give more room for the runes to fit in each area (as in raleel's 4th point).

Like raleel and VikingGod said, I think that the multiple tracks for the damage can be confusing. I like the idea of publishing multiple mats with different damage tracks.

If possible I would like to see an indicator on the conditions for each level of intensity. A very small 1,2,3,4 (or something) on each side of the space would be enough to help people keep track.

So far we love the game and look forward to the new stuff on the horizon!

All of your feedback is taken into consideration as we work through the redesign. Most if not all items mentioned are addressed with the new prototypes. :)

Edit: I am also looking at how War of Shadow mechanics could be rolled into the same overall design. This way with some Photoshop layers, we can produce several streamlined playmats.
