Fate of the Norns

Heya everyone!

So it's Monday and we're off to the races. Originally the 6th book was to be called Giants & Gods but after doing a Google, we found that there were other books with that name. We inverted it to Giants & Gods so that the title would be unique, but Jotuns & Gods became an even better option. However it isn't all that evocative, so it's still a working title. A thought that occured to me was to keep the "of the" middle words of all of our books: Fate OF THE Norns, Denizens OF THE North... So how would Lords OF THE Tree sound? "Lord" and "Tree" could probably be thesaurused (is that even a verb?)... anyhow we need to capture the essence of a book that will speak about: Aesir, Vanir, Muspeli and Rime Jotuns as well as Dvergar. LOL "The good, the bad and the ugly"? But seriously, I'm open to suggestions. Oh and I need a coffee!

Lords of the Tree isn't bad. Jarls of the World Tree?

Jotuns and Aesir and Vanir, Oh My! Ok, maybe not that one.

I think it should clearly reference the North and Viking myth and culture. Cubicle 7 are publishing the English version of the game "Ygdrasil" so using that word in the title might confuse some buyers. I don't know anything about Ygdrasil other than that it is a Viking themed RPG.

"Pendelhaven Extract More Money from my Wallet" would be an accurate title, but probably not what we want sitting on our bookshelves.

I am picturing an ad similar to the old "buy this book or we shoot this dog" only with Erik Bloodaxe holding a slave...

Well, I would suggest using Ash instead of Tree. Lords of the Ash would be pretty good. Roots of the Ash might be good if you want to go for the world tree feel.

I think if you can get something in about hanging from the tree, that would be good. Although Odin was the only one I know of who hung himself, it is supposed to be the Gallows Tree after all. Fruits of the Ash might be interesting, but honestly, I don't think enough doomy-gloomy

You might do something with Ratatoskr, as he runs up and down the length, and he would probably see all those races along the way. That and you have the maidens already.

I like "Lords of the Ash"

We're going to try and work the gods, jotuns and dvergar into the cover (back cover included). So at least 1 representative from each of the 5 major realms.

How about "Denizens of Yggdrasil" or "The Cosmic Ash" or "The Norns and the Well"? ^^
