This works well for me, as in my starting saga I want my Dwellers shipwrecked on the island. A sea serpent attack is perfect - and now I can do it with an actual encounter instead of just backstory. When I run the game in a few weeks I'll report back and let you know how the fight went.

So I confess when I ran the sea serpent I didn't have all the powers mapped out properly, so I just...winged it. It was a short, small combat where I tried to get everyone used to the turn order, Wryding runes, etc. Still there was a great deal of fun against the sea serpent (they're calling it a kraken, even though that's a greek term, heh). It properly terrified them, that's for sure.
I will try again, with a proper use of the boards & power mapping.

Also, do they know there actually ARE Krakens in the Ragnarok setting?

I’ll have to break out my books later to make sure I’m remembering all the powers correctly, but this looks really good. Dangerous, but balanced, and a fun encounter. Plus, one of my main complaints about the monster selection in the books is that there really aren’t a whole lot of official monsters geared toward a caustic encounters. Kraken, Winter Rusalki, Water Skui, maybe the Nokken and Fossgrimmen is about it. Poooossibly Willow Wisp, but that doesn’t really seem super maritime to me. So I rather like having something like a sea serpent.

@dafelsheim I just made a level 15 sea serpent primarily using your model. Skills I went with the normal adjacent slots creation rule, and I mostly did that on passives as well. The only thing I changed on passives was swapping out superb swimmer for resistance to degeneration. Then I pulled snare, power over water, and acidic spittle from the actives. So now I’ve got something that can spit acid at people from range, or grab them with snare, then pull them under the water and boil them. I will let you know how it goes when I get a chance to run it.

Sea serpents are a personal favourite of mine. It's always harrowing to have something attack your ship from beneath the waves.
