Here's a thought - mook damage is like a weapon that is QR of 50% avg level of the party. Gotta pay for reach and damage and all that. But that means your starting mooks are going to be in the single handed weapon range but go down quick. They can penetrate armor a bit too. Once you are getting to level 12, you are looking at guys with bigger two handers.

Any words of wisdom from others?

I am looking at mooks, but think they will be better handled as swarms. The aim of mooks after all is to die fast and get in the way while the main bad guys limber up :-)

Swarm wise. I think there needs to be a better Destiny system than , "what you feel is right"

I'm considering a few changes

- a swarm moves as a crowd not as individuals, so covers a fixed area of hexs on the map, 1 hex per member of swarm, that like Alkaa must always be adjacent until the swarm is shattered.
- swarm moral. Every 25% of deaths in swarm pull a rune, if spiritual the swarm shatters and attempts to flee.
- attacks as a crowd, damage from the size of the swarm is added at a rate of :: swarm volume / denizens * swarm dweller level
- destiny 1 / denizen, minimum of 3
- 2 free move actions.
- A basic melee or ranged attack action hits ALL targets within reach/range

Yet to be tested.

No rule book with me

But lets assume their basic attack is a wpn doing 3 damage

Lets says 10 lvl 8 wolves vs 6 characters

So 10 * 8 = 80 / 6 = 13 + base 3 = 16

With destiny of 6

If a dweller dies then damage could be recalculated . But destiny would not change.

Another thought would be the base damage modifier is split between all targets within range / reach..(rather thsn all enemies / dwellers present) .which makes taking on a large crowd alone...either fatal...or epic

those are some tough wolves! they are going to mutilate lower levels vikings (6 essence * 5 wound levels = only take 2 shots of that!)

Base dmg * swarm size / targets in reach

Yes possibly. But it gives a swarm real weight and threat that can be scaled. For younger vikings the wolves are a pack of level 4 wolves or are only 5.

So fangs 4 * 10 wolves / 2 guys too slow to move = 20

Yea kinda like my second thought , though a little less brutal :)
