First post!!!!

I know that Angel of Death, Missionary, Orlog and Godi will be included, but I was wondering if Voelva would be included in the next book?

Ahhh the convention circuit news travels quickly. YES the Voaelva will be a playable archetype but you'll need some serious Disir to get to play her. :) I just started to talk about her and already she's news in other cities LOL.

Voelva!?! YEEEEEEEEESH!

I had a potential player ask why Voelvas weren't a thing. Now I can tell her that she can aspire to become one.

BUT how will Norns (GM's) handle this? She predicts the future right? So if a player can predict what'll happen, will that not mess up a storyline? I'm having a hard time seeing how this will work. I'm an ex-Pathfinder player who hasn't played those new indie collaborative story-telling rpg's so maybe that's why I can't see it working. Can someone walk me through how this'll work??

Good questions!

To begin with, it'll be an advanced archetype, perhaps Disir 4, with an option for the Norn to overrule this as a playable archetype since it will require Norn excellence to run with it.

Initial thoughts, nothing written in stone yet:
- She will can gain some control on her rune pulls, but at a cost (sacrifice).
- She will gain insights from the Norns (her Omens and Portents skill will be less cryptic with unavoidable results)
- When a prophesy (omen/portent) is resolved, the will get a burst bonus (wyrd or something else)

The prophesies can be handled in a few interesting ways:
- a narrow statement is made such as "you will face defeat", but it leaves the "how" very open to: when, what kind, how, by whom, etc
- a branching prophesy where elements along the way are described (when, what kind, how, by whom, etc) but not the what

In order to help the Norn who may have creative block, I was thinking about a table of 24 or 48 prophesies based on a rune pull.

Of course player thoughts are more than welcome! :)

My players love random draws. They loved the lifepaths.
