Post subject:  Longships

I have some questions about longships and naval combat. I was wondering if anyone had more insight than me.

1. You use Craft to make Longships. Can you also apply the Miniaturize skill?

2. I'm unsure as to how to determine the size, in feet, of ships. The Kravi, for example, says, "Kravi-size:12 (30')." Assuming that 1 Size = 1 Hex/5', wouldn't the Kravi have a size in feet of 70'? Also, is size the total usable area of the ship or the length?

3. In the section for Crafting Longships, it says that for each QR of a ship, it does +4 damage. This formula holds true for the Snekkja (QR 16, 64 damage) and the Skeid (QR 24, 96 damage) but not the Kravi (QR 12, 24 damage.) Am I missing something?

4. And if a ship takes damage, can it be repaired?

Yes but you probably wouldn't want to since capacity is based on size. You may want to only when creating a small compact attack ship that needs a minimal crew (SWAT team) and wants maximum stats.

It was built using the QR points in the crafting table. Could it be shorter and wider? Maybe a typo?

I think you found a typo :) It should read 48 damage (I'll add it to the DotN errata)

Thanks, that answers a lot. I'm planning on running one or more naval combat encounters tonight. The second-generation of Dwellers to try to finish the quest for Fafnir's Treasure that their forebears died trying to get.
