Has anyone seen this??

I just discovered it 5 minutes ago. Looks really cool and may enable rune play very easily!

Anyone game to try it out?

yep, i'm up for it.

do you have the art assets for the runes in a reasonable (200 pixel +) size?

here's some pictures.

so, it's possible. It's not exactly easy. It's a physics engine, after all, and things happen kind of less predictably than I'd like.

To create a "deck", you have to use a java tool, or edit a jpg they have. the java tool isn't bad. When you create a "custom deck", you import the image that you exported from the deck creation tool. You also import the back of the card. Both of these should be in URL format. I uploaded mine to imgur. you also have to pick how many cards are in the deck.

after that, it works pretty much like a rune bag.

i made the boards by importing an image I had extracted from the PDF. it required some tweaking, but it worked. I could not get the regular player playmat to work. My gut says the image size was too large, but I don't have a good way of knowing in the couple of hours I tweaked with it.

I used Go pierces for counters on conditions. that was pretty straight forward. There are options there.

there is a loot bag model. I think an enterprising soul could probably make a rune bag and input the runes they need. Their UI probably would support it just fine. They had dominoes, and you can rotate things. A lot of stuff is customizable. Almost too much :) It's still pretty early, but the physics work fine.

I think it would probably work very well IF there was a separate more-static playmat surface that wasn't governed by physics. More of like a window with an ipad style interface. I didn't see a character sheet thing either, which would probably be good.

That looks great Raleel!

I'm thinking that feature for a playmat / playcard should be there since the mission statement of this app is to reproduce a tabletop boardgame or card game. Boargames (since the Euro invasion) have been prolific in the use of small personal playmats. There must be something (in the works?) for that, no?

Would they have hex shaped cards by any chance?

Once you create a "game" can you make it public and hosted by others? I know my frustration for roll20 was that what I created as a mod, would be local to me, and there weren't any export options.

I'll take a look this weekend for the hex cards. I didn't see any. A Gulveig deck would be dead simple though. I don't have the art to make that happen, but one could easily play the same game with another numbered deck.

The board is there, as you can see, but there is no way to do a character sheet. That we would have to be kept on paper I think.

I could do the hosting, yea. I deliberately shut it off so I could tweak it in peace.

Everyone has to download the resources, so if you have them hosted online it makes it easy. If helps if you are all using the same resources (like backs of cards) but not required.

There is voice chat.

Folks that want to try it out should send me a PM with your email and I'll set up a time. It might be a bit though since my schedule is getting brutal over the next month.

Count me in but later in the week. We're trying to rejuvenate the Horn of the Kraken campaign. Right now, with the current budget, the cover is in peril and we may have to crowdsource the editing and layout. The part that eats me up- the manuscript is pretty much done on this one. Stephen is a really quick writer, ready and able to churn out 3 manuscripts per year.

I know there is the capability to do hexes. I'm not sure CARDS, but someone did up a catan board, so it's gotta at least be somewhat possible.

I didn't get a chance this weekend. Stupid being a dad!

update - well there are mods for lots of things. I've not gotten any of them to work. but that's probably for lack of serious effort :)

edit: found the thing. the table trays 2 mod seems like it's quite useful. it makes a tray where you could, say, put your playmat. there is also a very large table option, but i think I like the tray more.

the loot bag I mentioned above - if you "physically" pick it up and shake it, it will randomize your draw. tried it with several kinds of objects, including different kinds at the same time.

update - alright, to make a deck, current most effective mechanism is probably to take a full deck and pull out cards, then save it to your chest. Annoying, to be sure, but I'm very likely not going to try and make 3d models for rune tiles.

however, you can do that and it's not particularly painful.

I made the playmat go. needed to reduce it to 25% of the size on the website :)

i made some smaller go pieces for condition markers. I made my rune deck small so that it would look right on the board AND made the board small so it would fit on the table without too many problems.

so.. I think it might even be serviceable at this point. you need some ramp up time to understand WHAT to do to make things go. I'm still kinda tinkering with it a bit, but.. yea. I guess it could work alright :)

It's not what I would do, but it requires far less effort. Someone with more skill might be able to make Roll20 go.
