The second edition of Fate of the Norns contains a more special abilities for all occupations and a progression for those abilities which is no longer linear. Come experience the next stage of RPG gaming!


Fate of the Norns: Ragnarok (circa 2005+)
Fate of the Norns: Ragnarok is the brand new RPG from Pendelhaven! It features a new leap in RPG innovation & evolution. Done away are the traditional dice. In their place are the magical Viking Runes of old. Wyrd the runes brave traveler, the Norns will weave your destiny! Characters are defined by a subset of the 24 runes of renown. The runes pulled during character creation decide the main traits, strengths, weaknesses, powers and skills. From there players put their newly found Essence in a sacred bag. Activity resolution are driven by divinations, beseeching the Norns as random runes are drawn from the bag. Do you leap the chasm? Do you parry the blow of a mighty Frost Troll? Does your soul rise to Valhalla after your dying breath? The Norns will tell! Fate of the Norns: Ragnarok features…
  • Rich World: Builds on the 15+ years of Fate of the Norns mythos
  • The classic archetypes are back, but thrown into a world of death and devastation as Ragnarok descends upon the land.
  • Death is not the end: Viking afterlife even more rewarding, with Einherjar (immortal soldiers of the apocalypse) being an eventual playable archetype.
  • Mechanics that are easy to learn, but crunchy enough to tweak as you master the game. Level of variables can be throttled in real time based on desired simplicity and variety. The game is numbers light, color heavy!
  • Non-predetermined progression: Archetypes blend, mix and match, or specialize as your journey of personal growth leads you through spheres of specialties.
  • Three all encompassing attributes: The runes represent the character’s Traits of Physical, Mental and Spiritual.
  • Danger around every corner: The runes are the Essence of the dweller, as the dweller takes damage, they lose runes, reducing their effectiveness in real time.
  • Runic meanings: Each rune is bound to a skill, a passive power (a power that is always active) and an active power (a power that must be evoked).
  • Non-linear evolution: The number of runes pulled differs on character Destiny. As you level, choose to increase your Essence or Destiny.
